I believe that therapy can be helpful for a variety of issues, and most people can benefit from a safe space to explore the things that may be holding them back in life. I view therapy as a collaborative, dynamic, and individualized process. I have a warm and engaging style and am flexible in adapting therapy to meet your needs and goals. I draw from several treatment approaches, including psychodynamic, relational, and cognitive-behavioral to help you increase self-awareness and insight, develop effective coping skills, and heal from past experiences that have left emotional marks. While therapy can be challenging, it can also be the catalyst that allows you to live a more fulfilled and peaceful life.
I received my doctoral degree from Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology with a concentration in health psychology. I specialize in treating people who have been touched by a medical illness or issue in some way. I welcome the chance to support people who are living with a temporary, chronic, or terminal illness, people who are caring for someone living with an illness, and people who have grown up with an ill family member. I also have extensive training and an interest in treating people who are dealing with depression, anxiety, relationship problems, past or recent traumas, and difficult life transitions.
I have over 10 years of experience working with adolescents and adults in a variety of settings, including inpatient hospitals, university counseling centers, and outpatient clinics. One common thread that I have discovered through my work is the importance of the therapeutic alliance. The fit between you and your therapist is the foundation upon which the work of therapy is built. I encourage you to find someone who allows you to feel connected and supported.
